Responsibilities include:Supporting daily field operations on oil, gas and helium-bearing wellsDeveloping and carrying out strategies to improve production from mature and stripper wellsPreparing procedures, cost estimates and schedules for workovers, recompletions and new wellsDesigning and optimizing artificial lift systemsTroubleshooting and improving gas gathering, compression and processing facilities, including helium recoveryMaking sure designs meet industry standards, codes and Kansas Corporation Commission requirementsCoordinating risk assessments and management-of-change reviewsAnalyzing well logs, forecasting production and estimating reservesEvaluating acquisitions, including production history, operating costs, plugging liability and gas contractsUsing data analysis to improve field performance and support investment decisionsRequirementsLegally authorized to work in the United States full timeBachelor's degree or higher in Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical EngineeringCurrently a senior or graduate studentExpected graduation date: December 2026Willing to work in Hays, Kansas or Houston, TexasPreferredCumulative and xhyhwjd major GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scalePrevious internship or co-op in the energy industryProficient in Microsoft Office, especially ExcelProficient with Claude or similar AI toolsInterest in helium, natural gas processing or Midcontinent operationsComfortable working in the field and with field staffTakes ownership and follows through on commitmentsUnderstands how financial and production metrics affect the businessWork environmentMix of office and field time in Kansas with periodic travel to well sites and vendor locations
